Inspiration comes from within — and I’m here to help you activate it.

Meet Jolene

Hello, I’m Jolene Dawn Lindsey—a Registered Social Worker (BCCSW #09027; ACSW #16988) who has been honoured to serve the Kamloops community since 2006. My journey into counselling began with a Bachelor of Social Work from Thompson Rivers University and deepened when I earned my Master’s Degree in Social Work from Dalhousie University in 2016.  Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supervising the next generation of therapists as an Approved Practicum Supervisor for Yorkville University, Thompson Rivers University, Dalhousie University, and Athabasca University.  I primarily serve the Thompson-Okanagan region for in person sessions and provide a substantial amount of virtual services across the province of British Columbia.

My therapeutic approach is integrative and heart-centered. My clinical practice is strongly guided by evidence-based modalities such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), OEI (Observed and Experiential Integration) trauma treatment, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.  My heart-centered approach to the work is supported by energy-healing techniques (Usui Holy Fire Reiki Master – levels I, II, III) to connect and integrate mind, body, and spirit.  Whether you’re facing grief, trauma, life transitions, or simply seeking more attuned guidance, I tailor each session to meet you where you are—providing compassionate space for you to explore, heal, grow and break through the negative patterning and experiences from you past that are holding you back from yourself.

My own life experiences have profoundly shaped my work.  After losing my father to suicide when I was seventeen, I became deeply committed to Suicide Prevention + Awareness—both in my clinical practice and through an annual community event here in Kamloops. I believe that with courage, connection, and the right support, we can transform even our darkest chapters into powerful catalysts for hope and resilience.  My personal life transitions of being a divorced, single mother of 3  have also lead to increased wisdom in my practice and the creation of my highly regarded and demanded workshop, “I am the One.”    The expansion of Jolene Dawn Counselling and Consulting has also been birthed from the desire to support clinicians and business owners seeking similar work/life balance that I worked hard to create for myself, my family and my clients.   My authentic approach to the work shines through all I do. My free offerings on social platforms and my podcast are soul and service driven to share healing and resources to everyone, whether they walk into my office or not.   My professional approach and comprehensive understanding to the nature of the this business makes me a chosen favorite amongst other health care professionals seeking their own support.  This is an honor and privilege I hold to a high standard.

I’m humbled to have been recognized by my peers and community—earning Gold for “Best Therapist” and “Best Clinical Counsellor,” and a Bronze for co-hosting the podcast IN-TE-GREATNESS with Jason and Jolene.  I have also been recognized with Bronze for “Best Entrepreneur over 40.”  My work speaks for itself and the best reward of all is watching my clients and collective following enhance thier lives through my teachings and create a positive ripple effect in their own legacies.   If you’re ready to step away from old narratives and begin writing a new story, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you.
