I am currently completing my Master of Counselling Psychology and offering counselling sessions as a practicum student. My therapeutic stance is grounded and relational. I work from a holistic lens that includes the mind, body, emotional self‑awareness, environment, relationships, and the nervous system. I also bring a spiritual perspective to my work, supported by personal practices that enhance grounding, emotional self‑awareness, and reflective insight.
I have always been drawn to counselling, even before I had access to the field. Growing up in a small town with limited resources, becoming a counsellor felt out of reach. Over time, my path through social work and long-term work in the addiction field brought me closer to the work I had wanted to do from the beginning. I am a Registered Social Worker and have spent more than a decade in the addiction field in roles such as case management, addictions counselling, and inpatient discharge coordination. My current work supporting Indigenous communities has further shaped how I understand people, systems, and the importance of building genuine connection, authenticity, and empathy in the therapeutic relationship.
In my counselling work, I am particularly drawn to supporting individuals navigating attachment concerns, emotional regulation, substance use, and relational patterns. I use approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), attachment-based work, mindfulness, and somatic awareness. My goal is to offer a space that feels collaborative, grounded, and supportive, where clients can explore their experiences through relationship and connection at a pace that feels safe and meaningful. Healing looks different for each person, and meeting clients where they are at is an important part of how I work.
Outside of my professional roles, I spend a lot of time reading, and journaling is a consistent part of my routine, keeping me grounded and self-aware. I also enjoy hands-on projects such as canning, gardening, and crochet, which support creativity, connection, and a return to the basics.
I look forward to meeting clients wherever they are and supporting meaningful, sustainable change through warmth, presence, and intentional practice.
